I have been using LR4 and PS5 for several months on my computer without any issues, but tonight I tried to open a file for editing in PS from LR and I got an error message about compatibility. I clicked on "open anyway" and the file opened in PS and I made some edits, saved it, and went back to LR. I tried to open another file, and got the same error message, so I clicked on "open anyway" again, but I also clicked on "don't show again" so now I can't replicate that error. But the second file won't open in PS, so I tried to open it directly in PS without going through LR and I got an error message about "the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the current installed version of camera raw". But I haven't changed cameras or changed installed versions. So I tried to update the applications through the help window, and downloaded the updates and tried to install them, but I get an error message that "the following updates were unable to install" and it was PS update 12.04 for PS5 and PS camera raw 6.7 for PS5 and I get a message that there was an error downloading those files (even though they seemed to download -the progress window showed them downloaded and then installing) and to try again later. I've tried several times, with the same error messages. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling PS itself, and I still have the same issues.
I tried using the chat support, but only got a robot repeatedly telling me that only the latest versions are supported by chat help.
I have Windows 8 (and hate it), Canon 5d3, and LR4 and PS5 - but, as I said, I have been using all of these same programs for months without issue - only tonight, I started having a problem I can't solve.
Thanks for any help in unraveling this mystery and saving me from chucking my computer our the window in aggravation -
